On Wednesday May 20th at 12:11 in the afternoon the Baldwinsville Fire Department was activated for a possible residential fire at 53 East Genesee St. with a caller stating there was black smoke coming from a residence and fire could be seen on the second floor. Not to long after that a second call was recieved by the Onondaga County 911 Center from a neighboring business that there was heavy black smoke and fire from the second floor. Northwest Fire District Chief Baldwinsville Car 1 (J.G.Roziock) arrived shortly after dispatch confriming heavy black smoke and fire from the C-side of the residence and gave the signal 99 as well as requesting Fairmount Engine 94 to respond as well. Baldwinsville Ladder 3 (Lt. T. DiGregorio) was the first arriving apparatus and set up on the C-side of the structure establishing a water supply and deploying an attack line to the fire. Baldwinsville Car 3 (Asst. Chief Natoli) arrived next and took interior operations for the duration of the alarm. Baldwinsville Truck 3 (Firefighter Neish) was the second due piece of apparatus and set up on the A-side of the structure deploying an attack line to the second floor to  assist Ladder 3 with extinguishment and knocking down the rest of the fire. First due crews had the bulk of the fire knocked down and started overhaul within 28 minutes of the Onondaga County 911 Center reciveing the first call of the fire. Additional departments that responded were Lakeside, Liverpool, Belgium Cold Springs, Seneca River, Solvay, Moyers Corners, and Plainville Fire Departments.
