On May 30th 2018 at 0117 hrs the Baldwinsville Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Maple Rd and Morgan Rd for reports of a water problem within a structure. Upon dispatch Baldwinsville Fire Department was also notified that there was an unoccupied red sedan outside the residence that had appeard to have hit a fire hydrant which was located in the homeowners front yard. Baldwinsvilles C-3 (Chief Kennedy) and C-4 (Chief DiGregorio) were first on scene and confrimed that there was an unoccupied red sedan on top of a hydrant which was broken and leaking from the ground. Baldwinsville Squad 1 (Lt. Cantello) and Squad 2 (F.F. Burke) investigated the home with water coming into the basement and left the homeowner with a water pump and firehose to assist them with pumping out their basement if needed. Baldwinsville Squad 3 (FF C. Ravas) also responded to the incident but was canceled while in route to the call. All units were back in service about 30 minutes after dispatch and the scene was turned over to the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office for investigation and Onondaga County Water Authority to repair the damaged fire hydrant.
