The North West Fire District (NWFD) Board of Commissioners would like to thank the residents of the district for coming out to vote on September 22nd.  The passing of Proposition I confirms the residents acknowledge that the purchase of Baldwinsville Stations 1 and 2 is in the best interest of the taxpayers. Although we are disappointed with the outcome for Proposition II, we are encouraged by the close numbers that many are in favor of a new station.

We are grateful for the efforts of all who encouraged voices to be heard, regardless of their stance, as this vote has brought a greater awareness to the community that there is a true need for a new fire station on the north side of the district. With awareness comes better opportunity to bring forth additional possibilities, where there may not have been before.  Over the next few months the NWFD will be holding some informational meetings (we will get the dates out soon) and we encourage the residents of the NWFD to come out to the meetings and let your voice be heard.

We also want to publicly thank our members for the hundreds of hours individually spent each year on their dedication to State and department training; supporting numerous civic events; conduction safety and fire prevention education; completing stand-by assignments at sporting events, to name a few and in addition responding to approximately 900 calls a year.

We would also like to thank their families for the understanding and support that allows the members to serve the needs of the NWFD on a daily basis.

Our mission remains steadfast: To serve all residents of our community with the professional emergency services you have come to expect since 1942.
